Ashleigh Cormack is Head of Counselling at Rowan Consultancy. Before training as a counsellor she worked in IT and Telecommunications for 10 years. Since 2004 she has worked as a counsellor and as a researcher with both adults and young people with wide-ranging issues and in a variety of settings (voluntary organisations, higher education, secondary schools and youth services).

Ashleigh's counselling approach is integrative. She has trained in several therapeutic modalities, the main ones being Person-Centred, Psychodynamic, CBT and Mindfulness. She also works creatively using art based therapy techniques to help clients to explore issues that may be below the surface of their awareness. Ashleigh's practice is underpinned by the humanistic values of respect, empathic understanding and acceptance. She believes in working flexibly and collaboratively with each person seeking help, tailoring therapy to the needs of the individual and what they might find helpful or useful. By offering support and understanding Ashleigh helps the client to find new ways of approaching problems and to locate and utilise strengths and resources.

As a BACP accredited counsellor Ashleigh adheres to their ethical standards and codes of practice and is committed to maintaining a high level of professional practice.
